At the initiative of Minister-President Pierre-Yves Jeholet and in close cooperation with the Association des Clubs de Football Francophones (ACFF), numerous clubs, professional and amateur football stakeholders, supporters, parents, media, and others will unite for a weekend against violence by wearing a red stripe, symbolising the launch of a new positive dynamic on and off the football pitch.
“Let's put violence offside”. That's the slogan of the anti-violence campaign launched by the ACFF for the 2023-2024 season and supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
Pierre-Yves Jeholet: “Violence in sport has become a real scourge, and we must do everything to put it offside. This is an issue that is particularly close to my heart”.
Given the alarming figures on violence in sport within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, taking part in this action will give everyone the chance to show their opposition to all forms of violence on and around football pitches.
“In concrete terms, players, coaches, referees, officials, and also spectators are called upon to clearly and visibly express their disapproval of acts of violence by wearing a red mark on their left cheek during this weekend's matches. An unprecedented initiative for Belgian amateur football!” explains Pierre-Yves Jeholet.
Let's all come together this weekend, wearing a red stripe on our left cheek, to say NO to violence in amateur football.
