Return to work is triggered more quickly when a worker is absent for health reasons. After one month of absence, the occupational doctor must step in to examine the possibilities for return or adjustment. After eight weeks, the employer must have the worker's work potential assessed by the external prevention service. The aim is to prevent absence from dragging on without follow-up, to identify earlier what remains possible and, where realistic, to open up a tailored reintegration pathway.
