The reform aims to ensure the sustainability of local media, whose current funding and operating model is no longer viable in the long term. It provides for stabilising the sector, enabling mergers between operators and financially supporting this transition, while guaranteeing full territorial coverage and the continuation of pluralistic, citizen-focused local news.
