The Walloon Government is granting nearly €7 million for the energy renovation of Namur Expo.
The Walloon Government approved, this Thursday, a subsidy for the “Namur Expo 2.vert” project, funded under the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF).
A budget of nearly €7 million is thus allocated to the energy renovation of Halls 1 and 2 of the complex, to bring them into line with energy performance standards.
The insulation of the buildings' outer envelope and the optimisation of technical installations (ventilation, heating, lighting…) are the focus of the project.
The goal is clear: to reduce Namur Expo's energy consumption and lower its carbon footprint.
“By supporting the energy renovation of Namur Expo, we are investing in a more sustainable future for Wallonia. This transformation demonstrates our commitment to combining economic dynamism with environmental responsibility,” says Adrien Dolimont, Minister-President of Wallonia.
Located in the city centre on a strategic axis, Namur Expo is a landmark for its 210,000 annual visitors and more than 3,000 exhibitors.
“The exemplary transformation of Namur Expo will help raise public awareness of the importance of energy renovation and building efficiency in Wallonia,” said the Minister for Climate and Energy, Cécile Neven.
