Georges-Louis Bouchez was the first guest on the programme “Face à Buxant” on RTL TVI, this Sunday 11 January. A frank, lively exchange, in which the MR President reaffirmed our core values: tax justice, balanced free trade and defence of the farming sector.
On the question of mutual insurers, Georges-Louis Bouchez was clear: “I don't hold it against them, I want equality before the tax law.” Mutual insurers, which hold several billion euros in assets, pay no tax on them, unlike other associations or businesses. For the MR, solidarity cannot justify a tax exception, and equality before the law must be the rule for everyone.
On the economic front, the President reaffirmed his support for international trade, essential to Belgium's prosperity. While in favour of signing free trade treaties such as Mercosur, Georges-Louis Bouchez nonetheless argues for balanced openness: no unfair competition and no imports failing to meet our standards.
From this Monday, the MR will table concrete proposals to the federal and Walloon governments: tax exemption for farming aid, reduced charges and administrative simplification. The aim: to support farmers while keeping Belgium among the major exporting nations.
