Adrien Dolimont, Walloon Minister-President, and Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Walloon Minister for the Economy and Industry, accompanied His Majesty King Philippe during his official visit to FN Herstal, a flagship industrial company from Liège and a strategic player in European defence.
In a geopolitical context marked by the return of issues around industrial sovereignty, reindustrialisation and collective security, this visit highlighted a Walloon company at the cutting edge of technology, backed by constant investment in research and development.
For Adrien Dolimont, “Giving His Majesty a behind-the-scenes look at this Walloon flagship company means showcasing an innovative, high-performing industry fully committed to European strategic autonomy.”
Pierre-Yves Jeholet, for his part, recalled that Wallonia's reindustrialisation is a central pillar of government action: “FN Herstal perfectly illustrates Walloon industrial know-how, serving employment, the economy and our defence capability. It is the result of daily work and a resolute industrial vision.”
During the visit, King Philippe was shown several production lines dedicated to mechanisation, electronics, motherboards for motorised vehicles and remote-controlled weapon stations, demonstrating the high technological level achieved at this strategic site.
