The control and sanctions system for noise exceedances around the airports of Liège and Charleroi is being strengthened. Specifically, warnings are being abolished and a sanction can now be applied as soon as a noise threshold is exceeded, as recorded by a single fixed noise meter. A long-awaited step for local residents to better protect their living environment, while allowing for better-regulated development of airport activities.
