By permanently enshrining in the Forestry Code the tools needed to prevent, monitor and manage health crises, Wallonia is equipping itself with a stable legal framework that responds more effectively to the challenges posed by climate change and new threats weighing on forest ecosystems. With this decree, Wallonia is changing its approach. It no longer creates an exceptional regime for every new crisis. It is enshrining in the Forestry Code a permanent framework, enabling risks to be anticipated, swift action to be taken when the situation requires it, and support to be provided to those involved.
