The Walloon Government has decided not to approve the municipal tax targeting Charleroi airport, deemed too risky for its financial viability. This decision aims to preserve a strategic tool for the Region, essential for employment, local economic activity and the accessibility of flights for citizens, while allowing the airport to continue its investments within a more stable and predictable framework. Negotiations are also under way with the federal government to adjust the tax it is planning.
