As part of his trip to Vienna for the 69th IAEA Conference, the federal Minister of Energy attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Eagles consortium and the IAEA. The creation of the EAGLES consortium aims to build a demonstration SMR reactor. On 10 February 2026, the EAGLES consortium, of which SCK CEN is a member, signed an agreement with the company newcleo to strengthen cooperation on lead-cooled fast reactors.
