An animal is not an object: it deserves protection and respect. To better safeguard this welfare on a daily basis, the legislation is being strengthened: tougher penalties for abuse, a “trust certificate” to encourage responsible owners, regulation of the breeding of animals with extreme characteristics and stricter rules for convicted persons. Result: less abuse and a safer environment for animals… and for society.
