In Wallonia, access to power capacity has become a central issue for economic redevelopment. Industry, mobility, heating, digital technology: usage is rapidly electrifying and pressure on the networks is increasing. It is unacceptable for economic, industrial or energy projects to be delayed due to insufficient network access, when Wallonia is precisely seeking to attract investment, create jobs and strengthen its competitiveness. This is exactly the point of the reform led by the Walloon Minister for Energy, Cécile Neven, which rests on three levers: better distributing available capacity, better using the existing network and better anticipating future needs. Network adaptation plans will now cover ten years, compared with five currently, with an update every two years.
