The amendment to RTBF's management contract marks a first step towards an audiovisual public service refocused on its core duties. It provides in particular for an analysis of the radio and television offer, a review of the sports rights acquisition policy, the creation of an emergency radio station and a tighter budgetary framework, with the non-indexation of certain resources. This development aims to preserve a strong public broadcaster while ensuring a more balanced, pluralistic and healthy media landscape for both local media and private players. For citizens, the goal is to have a useful, responsible public audiovisual service that is better focused on its priorities.
