Farmland plays a crucial role through its food-producing function, but also for the local economy and the cohesion of rural areas. It is a direct source of income and jobs for farmers, their families, seasonal workers, and for numerous economic activities upstream and downstream of the production chain. The policy paper aims to clarify the overall land strategy, with the goal of ensuring access to land and promoting the setting-up and transfer of farms, in order to encourage generational renewal.
