The Wallonia-Brussels Federation Government has adopted, at third reading, a reform of nursing training, in response to changes in European rules, changes to the profession decided at federal level, and the shortage of care staff on the ground. This reform, long awaited and much needed, aims to guarantee the quality of care, international recognition of students' qualifications, and clearer pathways for students, employers and patients alike. It is accompanied by the creation of a new training programme: the Higher Education Certificate for Nursing Assistants.
