The Minister for the Economy has decided to keep the maximum interest rate applicable to long-term life insurance at 3.75% for 2027, despite the National Bank's proposal to lower it to 2.75%. “We are allowing insurers to offer more attractive deals and better value savers' money. This measure helps to push interest rates upwards, supports purchasing power and strengthens competition for the benefit of savers.” David Clarinval, Minister for the Economy
