The reform makes it easier to expand special needs education provision in areas where places are lacking, particularly for pupils with autism spectrum disorder. It also strengthens support with new roles such as clinical special needs educators and care assistants, develops inclusion-oriented classes from nursery school onwards, and makes permanent the bilingual French-sign language classes. Several administrative procedures are also being simplified to allow teaching teams to devote more time to pupils.
