Security services will receive additional resources to better protect citizens and strengthen their action on the ground. In addition to the €450 million provided for in the government agreement, 5% of the Defence effort, or around €200 million per year, will be devoted to internal security. These resources will notably support the police, Defence support for certain sensitive missions, new helicopters for the Federal Police, the merger of police zones in Brussels and the recruitment of 100 inspectors to combat social and tax fraud. The goal: more presence, more coordination and more efficiency in the face of everyday threats.
