The PS President recently claimed that the Zero Long-Term Unemployed Territories project was a success. Yet the figures tell a very different story. €104 million invested for only 735 job placements, or more than €141,000 per person. An exorbitant cost that raises questions about the real effectiveness of this policy.
In Verviers, one of the pilot projects mobilised €9 million to achieve, in the end, zero reintegrations after 2 years. An irresponsible management of public funds that once again illustrates the inefficiency of socialist solutions on employment.
This programme, meant to offer an alternative to traditional job-integration schemes, actually demonstrates the PS's ideological blindness and its inability to propose effective structural reforms. For while the goal is commendable, reintegrating the long-term unemployed, the results show that this model is costly without guaranteeing a lasting return to work.
At the MR, we defend a different vision: rewarding work, easing the tax burden to encourage hiring, and supporting businesses that create jobs. The socialist all-subsidised model is a budgetary dead end that benefits no one. It is time to invest intelligently for concrete results, not to fund repeated failures.
