The tax reform put forward by the federal government has now been adopted. This major step delivers on a clear MR commitment: enabling those who work to keep a greater share of the fruits of their efforts.
This reform provides for a gradual increase in the tax-exempt threshold, which will rise to €15,300. In concrete terms, every worker will benefit from a tax cut, with gains that can reach several thousand euros a year depending on their situation.
It also includes a reduction in the special social security contribution, a strengthened tax deduction for self-employed workers, and additional tax benefits for families.
This reform is part of a coherent vision championed by the MR: rather than increasing the tax burden, work must be rewarded, those who create wealth must be supported, and citizens' purchasing power must be strengthened.
It complements the many measures already implemented, such as the reduction in registration duties in Wallonia and the tax exemption on overtime, with one constant goal: making work pay more.
For the MR, this reform marks another promise kept. By restoring purchasing power to workers, self-employed people and families, the Government is choosing a fairer tax system that encourages activity rather than penalising it.
