At the MR's request, the Chamber's Interior Committee has agreed that MPs may hear the leadership of the special units (DSU), following the tragedy in Lodelinsart.
For the MR group, several questions remain unanswered, and it is essential that all aspects leading to the death of a police officer can be addressed.
For federal MPs Denis Ducarme and Philippe Pivin, receiving the DSU and unions in committee is a matter of course: "Our Parliament must receive them, both to show them the consideration they deserve and to discuss their operational needs directly, without filters. We also need to revisit last week's events to analyse whether all risks were known and factored in, whether capacity was sufficient, and whether working and preparatory conditions were normal. Were the officers overworked? Had they already been on duty the day before? Did they get the rest they needed? These questions, among others, seem legitimate to us given the trauma once again shaking our police forces across the country."
