MR President Georges-Louis Bouchez confirmed this morning the appointment of a new MR director to the board of the public company Proximus. It is Franck-Philippe Georgin.
With a rich career in senior public service and the private sector, Franck-Philippe Georgin successively served as chief of staff to the Prefect of the Picardy region, Prefect of Somme in 2008, then Secretary General of the Prefecture of Creuse in 2010. In 2011, he joined the Ministry of the Interior as an adviser, before being appointed Deputy Prefect of Fontainebleau in 2012. He then became chief of staff to the president of the departmental council of Alpes-Maritimes until 2014. In 2015, he joined the Les Républicains party as director of studies and international relations. He continued his career in the private sector at the Casino group, first as director of strategy and planning in 2017, then as secretary general in 2018. In 2022, he joined CMA-CGM as senior vice-president in charge of projects and development. Since 2023, he has been secretary general and a member of the executive committee of Groupe Barrière.
For Georges-Louis Bouchez: “Franck-Philippe has knowledge of how both the public and private sectors work, as well as experience managing large groups. These will be undeniable assets for Proximus, which faces numerous challenges. The state as a shareholder cannot be satisfied with, and passively accept, such a devaluation of the share price and prices for consumers that remain too high, nor a strategy that is unclear to investors. Franck-Philippe's role will be to bring more clarity to the company's direction.”
