Every week, our newsletter gives the floor to one of our local elected representatives. This time, we want to thank them all together.
In every municipality, every CPAS, every municipal council or college, our representatives are in direct contact with citizens. They listen, explain, make decisions and act. They are often the first embodiment of the MR on the ground, the one citizens meet every day, far from abstract speeches.
Our strength lies in a dense and diverse local network. Municipal councillors, aldermen, CPAS councillors and mayors carry out their responsibilities in very different settings, both rural and urban, with the same demand for closeness, responsibility and efficiency.
This network is also deeply intergenerational. It brings together experienced elected representatives, carriers of valuable political memory, as well as a new committed generation, eager to get involved for their municipality and for the future.
Following the local elections of October 2024, our territorial roots have grown even stronger. Today we count more than 2,100 elected representatives to carry our values, explain our choices and convey our positions on the ground.
Being a local elected representative means managing complex issues, responding to residents' expectations and sometimes making difficult decisions. It also means bringing the MR's values to life: freedom, responsibility, sound management and pragmatism.
For the year ahead, our ambition is clear: to better support you, better inform you and better highlight your work. The Support Unit for Local Elected Representatives will continue to pursue this goal with tools increasingly tailored to your realities.
