Georges-Louis Bouchez is the political guest of the newspaper Le Soir this Saturday morning. The MR President discusses the latest major topics: the socio-economic discussions at federal level, media pluralism and the political situation in Brussels.
Georges-Louis Bouchez: “We reject any new tax: our priority is growth, investment and private employment, because that is the only sustainable way to fund our pensions, our security and our social protection. We want a state that stops doing everything half-heartedly and badly, and that finally focuses on what creates prosperity.”
On the socio-economic front, the MR pursues a clear policy: less unnecessary public spending, fewer administrative layers, fewer absurd regulations, and more freedom for those who set up businesses and hire staff. Rather than further raising taxes in one of the most heavily taxed countries in the world, we want to simplify, speed up permits, bring back industry and free up private employment, particularly in Wallonia and Brussels. For us, the choice is clear: support those who work and invest, not feed the bureaucratic machine.
In Brussels, the MR means the return of common sense to power: a review of Good Move, tax cuts, a path towards budget balance in a region on the brink of suffocation. And regarding RTBF, we openly say that the current model must be thoroughly overhauled: public money must serve a genuine public service, not distort competition with private players or reinforce a quasi-monopoly.
