The Service public de Wallonie has detected a large-scale intrusion into its IT system. In order to limit its impact as much as possible, the SPW's strategic committee, with the Government's approval, decided to temporarily cut all internet connections in order to assess the level of compromise of the IT infrastructure and to take security measures.
This decision was taken in consultation with the CCB (Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium). At this stage, we have no indication that confidential data has been compromised.
It is currently impossible to give a date for the normal resumption of activities.
The consequences of this temporary disconnection will be significant for the services.
A crisis unit is currently listing urgent matters and the various communication channels will be mobilised to maintain the link between the administration and its users.
The Government and the administration will act swiftly and flexibly to address all potential consequences arising from this service disruption.
We can assure you that all forces have been mobilised to safeguard our services.
Regular updates on the evolution of the situation will be sent by the SPW to the press. Users, for their part, will be kept informed of developments regarding this incident by the administration via the Wallonie.be Facebook page.
