No agreement was reached on Monday on the healthcare budget for next year. A worrying situation, but one that can quickly be resolved if everyone plays their part.
“We are simply asking that everyone take part in the effort, not just doctors or dentists. The pharmaceutical sector must also contribute to the budgetary effort, in proportion to its overspend. But we must not, for philosophical or purely political reasons, exempt health insurance funds or medical centres either,” says MR federal MP Daniel Bacquelaine.
The proposed budget, which was not adopted, aimed among other things to achieve significant savings, mainly on medicines, teleconsultations and dentists' fees.
“An effort must be made, and it must be shared by everyone, not always by the same ones. The current situation creates great uncertainty and risks an increase in costs for patients, with additional fees or de-conventioning, as feared by the sector. We call for a return to reason in order to keep the accounts in order and ensure our system's primary mission: caring for the patient,” concludes the federal MP.
