The MR has proposed Hadja Lahbib as a candidate for the role of European Commissioner. Pending her official appointment, Hadja will remain Minister of Foreign Affairs.
This appointment reflects a commitment to greater representation of women and renewal, both within the party and within public structures. It also recognises the outstanding work Hadja carried out in managing Belgium's presidency of the European Union.
Enormous thanks and respect for the brilliant work of Didier Reynders, who remains and will remain an important and prominent figure of our political movement.
