Georges-Louis Bouchez proposes following the Swiss and Portuguese example by charging for the repatriation of the Belgians who took part in the flotilla to Gaza. Around ten activists, including Alexis Deswaef and Bénédicte Linard, an Ecolo MP, were intercepted by the Israeli army and then repatriated with consular assistance.
The MR President: “Belgium must follow the same path. We should even ask Alexis Deswaef to pay compensation for having made Belgium look ridiculous. His comments about concentration camps justify his no longer being part of the FIDH.”
