Georges-Louis Bouchez took part this Thursday evening in a major special broadcast on Radio Judaica, alongside a large and particularly attentive audience. Over more than 1.5 hours of live discussion, the programme delved deeply into several topics at the heart of current affairs and political priorities: the fight against antisemitism, international tensions surrounding Iran and the United States, and the political situation in Brussels. Our President reiterated that the safety of Jews in Belgium and Europe is non-negotiable and that clear, firm and structural responses are needed to counter the resurgence of anti-Jewish hatred, both in the streets and on campuses and social media.
On the international stage, Georges-Louis Bouchez defended a liberal, realistic and Atlanticist position, committed to the alliance with the United States while calling for a stronger and more coherent Europe amid Iranian threats and regional instability. He stressed the need to speak plainly, to reject any leniency towards regimes that support terrorism, and to combine firmness on security with the defence of individual freedoms.
Brussels politics was also discussed during the evening. This was an opportunity for the President to reaffirm the liberal shift in the capital, with an ambition for Brussels residents: a Region that takes charge of security, supports economic initiative and rejects the overregulation that stifles employment, investment and coexistence.
