On the eve of the MR's autumn congress at Walibi, bringing together 8,000 members, the President of the MR gave an interview to the French-speaking and Dutch-speaking newspapers, the DH and De Morgen. Georges-Louis Bouchez called for a “moment of truth” for Belgium. He stressed the need for rapid reforms in the face of a public deficit he considers alarming and a state “organised as in the Middle Ages”.
For Georges-Louis Bouchez, “we must preserve purchasing power! With the MR, there will be 0 extra taxes, we were elected for that and we will keep our promise!” The MR also calls for modernising the administration through artificial intelligence and for rethinking our social security system.
On the international stage, the President of the MR calls for pragmatism, recalling that only the United States has real leverage in the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
