Political courage is not about adding taxes. It is about daring to transform our country and finally rewarding those who show up, day after day!
That is the message recently conveyed by our President, Georges-Louis Bouchez, during his latest speech in the Chamber.
In 8 months, under the impetus of the Mouvement Réformateur, this government has carried out more concrete reforms than left-wing parties have championed in 30 years. Georges-Louis Bouchez firmly reminded us: there is no inevitability, only determination, because reform is the only path to restoring the value of work and ensuring everyone is fairly rewarded.
Taxing is giving in to the easy option, perpetuating the mistakes of half a century of stagnation. Reforming, however, means taking on the duty and responsibility of preparing the country's recovery, by tackling public waste, fraudulent benefits, and the inactivity of those who could be working. Our plan is to meet budget targets without new taxes, without an index freeze, and without a VAT increase.
“Yes, we are proposing far more revolutionary reforms than many other parties. Taxing is the easy way out… That is not how you attract investment or reward those who create value.”
That is why we will continue working tirelessly to ensure the budget serves those who move Belgium forward. The reforms championed by the MR are the true engine of change: for a stronger, fairer Belgium, prouder of those who build the future every day.
