This Friday afternoon, Georges-Louis Bouchez, President of the Mouvement Réformateur, and Valérie Glatigny, Minister of Education, visited Odoo in Louvain-La-Neuve. The company presented its educational activities and its public-private partnership proposals aimed at raising young people's awareness of entrepreneurship and technology.
Every year, Odoo trains and inspires nearly 10,000 students from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, about 20% of the school community, through internships, teaching tools and free training for teachers. The team now wants to expand this offer and invest an additional €2 million in mobile equipment and teacher support, provided it receives institutional backing to formalise the approach with schools.
The discussions also covered the introduction of work observation placements, the development of new teaching materials, and computer science education from primary school onwards, an area still considered too underdeveloped.
The visit concluded with a discovery of LabOdoo and the business game “Scale-Up”, an entrepreneurial simulation tool designed to introduce young people to business management and innovation.
