The President of the Mouvement Réformateur and lead candidate for the Chamber in Hainaut, Georges-Louis Bouchez, debated the mayor of Lubbeek and N-VA federal MP, Théo Francken, on RTL TVI this Saturday evening. For 30 minutes, the two men confronted their visions of society.
While sometimes similar on certain issues, particularly socio-economic ones, the difference is clear and unmistakable when it comes to dismantling Belgium. Liberals want a stronger state but not less state, unlike the Flemish nationalists. Other topics were also discussed, including police/justice, asylum and migration, and national defence.
