As guest of honour at the 2026 back-to-school summit of the Nouvelle Énergie movement, held on 29 August in Cannes, Georges-Louis Bouchez delivered a speech on the major economic and social challenges facing Belgium and France.
Alongside David Lisnard, mayor of Cannes and president of Nouvelle Énergie, the MR President defended a strong conviction: to fund our social model, our pensions and our public services, Europe must return to growth.
In his speech, Georges-Louis Bouchez called for a reduction in administrative burdens, lower taxes and a decrease in public spending to free up investment, work and wealth creation. He also stressed the importance of education and individual responsibility.
A speech in which the MR President reaffirmed a resolutely liberal line: “We do not commit ourselves for the next election, we commit ourselves for the next generation.”
