Wallonia is starting 2025 in full swing, successfully carrying out two financing operations on the financial markets this Thursday, 16 January, for a total amount of €1.5 billion.
These two operations represent an important milestone in Wallonia's financing plan. Indeed, by raising an amount of €1.5 billion, Wallonia already covers almost half of the financing it had planned to raise on the markets in 2025.
The first operation consists of a new bond issue of conventional benchmark size. This issue, amounting to €1 billion, was carried out with an all-in interest rate of 3.609% and a maturity of 10 years.
The second operation is a socially labelled issue aimed at financing hospital infrastructure, family allowances, as well as education and employment promotion. Amounting to €500 million, it was concluded with an all-in interest rate of 4.149% and a maturity of 29 years.
Minister Dolimont: “Last year, I emphasised my determination to fully secure all the necessary financing on the financial markets. My resolve to fully assume my responsibilities remains unchanged: I will not leave any task unfinished, because that too is what political responsibility means.”
