This Wednesday, MR federal MP Florence Reuter was a guest on QR le débat on RTBF. VAT, business support, the IBR status, employment and informal carers: she addressed several issues that directly affect citizens' daily lives.
Protecting purchasing power
Asked about a possible VAT increase, Florence Reuter clearly spoke out against a measure that would further burden purchasing power.
For the MR federal MP, budgetary efforts must also involve better control of public spending. She stressed the need to better support people who are able to work towards employment, rather than keeping them in long-term precariousness.
Supporting what creates jobs and growth
The debate also covered business support. Florence Reuter stressed the importance of distinguishing between schemes that directly support job creation, investment and competitiveness.
Innovation and training must continue to be supported. But for the MR federal MP, the various forms of support and subsidies must also be assessed to ensure public money is used effectively.
Better targeted social support
Regarding the IBR status, Florence Reuter defended the principle of social support that effectively benefits those who need it. She therefore believes it is necessary to take different sources of income into account in order to ensure a fairer and better targeted system.
Purchasing power, employment, competitiveness or social protection: throughout the debate, Florence Reuter defended a clear line — that of a more effective use of public resources for those who genuinely need them, and of a stronger economy.
