A guest on L’Echo last weekend, the Federal Minister for the Self-Employed, SMEs and the Middle Classes, Eléonore Simonet, discussed budgetary options to find 10 billion, but she also presented a number of new measures in favour of SMEs and the self-employed.
For the Minister, the budgetary solution lies not in new taxes, but in cutting spending.
She also presented the measures she will put before the Government, such as extending flexi-jobs to the self-employed, free filing of annual accounts, and the merger of business counters with social insurance funds.
The Minister also outlined a number of major projects she plans to launch shortly:
“We are looking at ways to reduce the surcharges for late payment of social security contributions. Another avenue: I would like to make the protection of the family home automatic in the event of seizure, or at least simplify the procedure. We also need to make it easier to transfer businesses. We are working on developing a DAC (advance declaration of transfer) for businesses, inspired by the tax disclosure schemes. I also want to set up a public comparison tool for meal voucher rates.”
