"We have far bigger problems with other types of drugs, but I believe that today we need to send a clear signal. We have a major problem with drugs, and all the arguments given to me to justify legalising cannabis would be equally valid arguments for cocaine, heroin, ketamine and all the others. So my question is: why would we do it for cannabis and not for the other drugs? That sends a very negative signal at a time when we should instead be telling our fellow citizens: ‘Drugs destroy states, destroy lives, families’. We must fight against it".
