The Electoral Board of the MR Regional branch of Brussels & Periphery, chaired by Viviane Teitelbaum, counted the votes this past Friday, 24 April, as part of the election of the Regional branch's new Presidency.
Three candidates were in the running for this presidency: David Weytsman, Geoffroy Coomans de Brachène and Yvan Kerekes.
Following the secret ballot held from 21 to 24 April at the Mouvement Réformateur's headquarters, the Electoral Board declared David Weytsman's victory with 71.34% of the vote, making him the new President of the MR Regional branch of Brussels & Periphery.
Georges-Louis Bouchez: “I would first like to highlight the smooth running of these internal elections, which reflect the democratic vitality of the Mouvement Réformateur. With this new Brussels presidency, the MR is fully operational: all our internal structures have been renewed, we are present in every government and active on the ground, as the leading party in Brussels and Wallonia.”
I wish David every success in his mission and hope for the unity of the Brussels MR, rich in its diversity, reflecting the Capital Region itself. I also want to acknowledge the commitment of Geoffroy Coomans de Brachène and Yvan Kerekes, who respectively obtained 26.63% and 2.02%.
The MR once again shows that, whether member or elected representative, we are first and foremost activists serving our ideas, our regions and our country.”
