This Tuesday, 14 April, the Cercle de Wallonie-Bruxelles welcomed Georges-Louis Bouchez and Boris Dilliès, for their first joint public appearance since Boris Dilliès took office as Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region.
Among the priorities mentioned, top of the list are tackling the budget deficit, the crucial issue of mobility, and strengthening security. These are structural challenges requiring swift, coherent and ambitious responses in order to restore the trust of citizens and economic players in the capital.
Georges-Louis Bouchez and Boris Dilliès stressed Brussels' strategic role on the international stage. As the capital of Belgium, but also of Europe, home to NATO and numerous European institutions, the city holds a central place on the global geopolitical chessboard. This position gives the Region particular responsibility, but also considerable potential.
The two liberals therefore stressed the importance of restoring the shine of our capital, by strengthening its attractiveness, influence and institutional efficiency. An ambition that requires stable governance, structural reforms and a clear vision for the capital's future.
