A year after adopting a first roadmap for the Air Climate Energy Plan (PACE) 2030, the Government repeats the exercise, updates the priorities, and approves its 2026 roadmap.
At the end of the previous legislature, one thing was clear: due to a lack of steering, only 13 of the 295 measures of the Air Climate Energy Plan (PACE) 2030 had been implemented (less than 5%). To remedy this, annual prioritisation, regular monitoring and clear involvement of each Minister were put in place.
A year later, the results are there. Of the 98 measures prioritised in 2025, 84 have been launched and 8 completed, giving a progress rate of 82%. More broadly, across the entire PACE, which now includes more than 300 measures following its expansion, 54 have been completed and 153 are under way. Nearly two thirds of the plan are therefore under way.
101 measures, three new priorities
The 2026 roadmap brings together 101 priority measures. Three new measures are included: support for the electrification of the fleet of social on-demand transport operators, the granting of sustainable mobility vouchers to disadvantaged groups, and the simplification of permit procedures for renewable energy and insulation.
The measures included in the roadmaps are mostly structural measures that fit within the long-term timeframe of public policy. Their implementation, often linked to demanding legislative processes, takes time, but constitutes an essential step towards achieving lasting transformations.
Accessible to everyone
Furthermore, and this is a first, in a spirit of transparency, the Government has decided to publish the 2026 roadmap on the website of the Walloon Air and Climate Agency (AWAC). The selected priority measures can now be viewed online.
Cécile Neven, Minister for the Air-Climate Plan: “ Climate transition cannot be reduced to setting objectives on paper. Without translating them into concrete actions, they will never be achieved. This Government has chosen to commit, with method and transparency, to delivering the objectives deemed priorities. The results are there ”
Adrien Dolimont, Minister-President of Wallonia: “ This roadmap reflects the method we apply to all government action: setting priorities, holding everyone accountable and monitoring the progress of commitments. This is how we restore credibility to public action. ”
