This Sunday, 14 September, the MR made a strong statement: more than 8,000 members gathered in Walibi for Estivales dedicated to action and reform.
The congress began:
Valérie De Bue set the tone: "Together, we are going to truly transform our country. It is our collective responsibility to pursue our ambition, to create this prosperity that makes us all proud, so that Belgium shines again and Wallonia takes its full place in it."
The youth panel was made up of young talents:
Taylor Maerle, karting champion, declared: "I want to show that passion and hard work pay off: even when you fall, you have to get back on track."
Maxence Vanderheyden and his brother Adrien stated: "We made our mark on the textile market by working with our favourite rappers. But there are too many taxes and administrative burdens. Things need to be simplified."
Amandine Coutant (EdTech Station Wallonia) shared her vision: "Educational innovation only has value if it reconnects with the human element."
Joseph Fattouch (ProteiCrunch) wants to encourage our country's dynamism: "Belgium can play a major role in the world of protein snacks."
Finally, Perrine Nachtergaele, a dancer, concluded: "Dance is not just entertainment. It is an art, a universal language, and a tool for inclusion that should be brought more to the forefront of people's minds."
Through the surprise and exceptional presence of Prime Minister Bart De Wever, whose speech can be found here, and the closing remarks by President Georges-Louis Bouchez here, the event confirmed the strength of the liberal family: reforms, commitment and mobilisation. It is this energy and unity that will make the difference, today and for 2029: "Talk about it with those around you, share our project, spread this energy, because it is together that we will continue to write a new chapter for our country."
