Since taking office, Interior Minister Bernard Quintin has launched a series of ambitious reforms to restore state authority, ensure security for all, and provide concrete support to law enforcement on the ground. Six months later, the results are clear: more resources, better coordination, and bold decisions to protect citizens. A look back at a strong course of action, guided by the MR's values
Full support for law enforcement
From the very start of his term, Bernard Quintin made security an absolute priority. Men and women on the ground finally received the support they deserve. Recruitment was accelerated, equipment modernised, and technological tools deployed to increase the effectiveness of operations.
“Our law enforcement officers must no longer be alone on the front line without resources. This support is essential to restoring trust between police and the public,” says the Minister.
Police reorganisation in the Brussels Region: a single police zone
In Brussels, a long-awaited reform has finally been set in motion: the merger of police zones. Held back for too long by a fragmented organisation, police operations will soon gain in coherence and responsiveness. The goal is simple: a police force that is closer, faster and more effective.
Fighting organised crime and border control
The Minister has also stepped up the fight against criminal networks undermining our neighbourhoods. Networks have been dismantled thanks to improved information-sharing between services and stronger cooperation with the judiciary.
At the borders, control measures have been tightened to tackle illegal trafficking and irregular migration. The message is clear: the State is regaining control.
A firm stance against extremism
In the interest of clarity and republican firmness, Bernard Quintin decided to ban certain radical organisations that threaten public order and democratic values. This strong signal confirms the MR's determination to show no leniency towards those who undermine the very foundations of our society.
Security, authority, responsibility: in six months, Minister Bernard Quintin has laid the foundations for a real change of direction. The MR will continue to stand alongside those who protect our freedoms every day.
