Solid protection for those who need it

Everyone contributes, and everyone must be able to count on solidarity when things get tough: illness, disability, job loss, the end of a career. We want solid protection for those who need it, including the self-employed, who are often less well covered than employees.

Support that gets people back on their feet, not that traps them

Support should be a springboard to start again, not a dead end. We want to guide everyone towards independence, according to their abilities, instead of leaving them alone with a benefit. And working must always pay more than not working.

Genuinely ill people protected, cheats checked

Millions of people work and pay contributions every month. What they pay must help the genuinely ill, the genuinely unemployed who are looking for work, the families who are genuinely struggling. Not those who cheat. A fake sick note, a complaisant medical certificate, a benefit claimed wrongly: every time, it is money taken from those who truly need it and from those who work honestly.

So we want serious checks, real sanctions and zero tolerance for fraud. People who are genuinely ill remain protected. And those who can work, even a little, are supported in doing so. Those who cheat put solidarity at risk for everyone.
