An employment rate of 80%: 4 out of 5 Walloons in work.
Benefits limited in time, with guidance and training.
At least €500 more per month when you take up a job.
Work is more than a wage, it is a place in society
For the MR, nothing protects against poverty and insecurity better than a job.
Employment, our number one priority
Our goal: an employment rate of 80%. 4 out of 5 Walloons must be in work. To get there, we help those who are looking, we expect an effort from everyone, and we train people for jobs that are genuinely hiring.
Support to bounce back, not to stay inactive
When you lose your job, solidarity must be there, and it will remain. But solidarity must help you get going again. That is why the MR has limited unemployment benefits in time. Two years to turn things around, with guidance and training, then a job. That is fairer for those who get up every morning and fund that support through their work. Above all, it is better for the jobseeker: no one is left to settle into waiting, everyone is put back on the path to work.
Genuine support
One more counter will not help you find a job. Every jobseeker deserves tailored follow-up and regular appointments. Forem and Actiris must genuinely support jobseekers.
Training that leads to a job
Training must lead to a job, not to a waiting room. We want short, practical courses geared to the sectors that are hiring: construction, care, digital. We want to strengthen work-based learning, learning on the ground.
Working must always pay more than living on benefits
When you take up a job, it must show at the end of the month, and clearly. At least €500 more per month than if you stayed out of work. No traps, no nasty surprises.
Supporting the businesses that hire
Jobs are created by SMEs, retailers and the self-employed. Cut the cost of hiring, support those who take the plunge: more businesses recruiting, more jobs close to home.
Social dialogue. Yes, with clear rules
Trade union freedom is fundamental, and we defend it. We want transparent trade unions. Strike action remains a last resort, with a guaranteed minimum service so that people are not held hostage, and a secret ballot so that everyone decides freely.
