Better preventing school dropout and limiting periods out of school

The reform simplifies absence monitoring so that pupils at risk of dropping out can be identified more quickly. A single tool for managing school attendance avoids duplicate data entry and automatically feeds the DAccE, while teams have access to data sooner to spot repeated absences. Permanent exclusion procedures are also adapted to speed up the handling of appeals and reduce periods of uncertainty for pupils and their families, including in another school network, in order to limit time spent out of school.

Better support for pupils in special needs education

The reform makes it easier to expand special needs education provision in areas where places are lacking, particularly for pupils with autism spectrum disorder. It also strengthens support through new roles of clinical educational psychologist and care assistant, develops inclusion-focused classes from nursery level and makes bilingual French-sign language classes permanent. Several administrative procedures are also simplified so that teaching teams can devote more time to pupils.

Air-Climate Plan: the Government approves its 2026 roadmap and confirms the ongoing momentum

Wallonia is stepping up the Air Climate Energy Plan 2030 with a new roadmap setting out 101 priority measures for 2026. These include support for electrifying social transport on demand, sustainable mobility vouchers for vulnerable groups and simplified permits for renewable energy and insulation. Across the whole PACE, 54 measures have now been completed and 153 are under way. The results are there.

Specific regulation for goods originating from Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Council of Ministers is implementing one of the measures of the September agreement on Palestine by approving a draft royal decree amending the royal decree of 30 December 1993 regulating the import, export and transit of goods and related technology, with regard to imports from Israeli settlements. In concrete terms, this decree introduces specific regulations for goods from Israeli settlements located in the Palestinian territory occupied by Israel, namely the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. The draft implements this measure within the existing prior authorisation regime and thus fits into the current system of licensing, control and sanctions.

Reducing the administrative burden on businesses

The Government wants to refocus sustainability reporting obligations on companies with more than 1,000 employees and an annual turnover above €450 million. Companies with fewer than 1,000 employees in their value chain would also be better protected against excessive requests for information. According to figures put forward by the MR, the number of Belgian companies directly affected would fall from around 2,300 to 110.

As promised by the MR, Minister Bernard Quintin has announced that €60 million will be devoted to raising police officers' pay. This will also make the profession more attractive. It is the implementation of the second phase of the sector agreement.

Ban on activities of organisations that threaten national security

The aim is to swiftly neutralise radical or dangerous organisations that threaten our security by banning them. The following may now lead to an administrative ban or dissolution: taking part in, organising, financing or providing logistical support to terrorist acts as defined in the Criminal Code, as well as the organised dissemination of content inciting such acts or presenting them as legitimate; repeated threats, intimidation or harassment targeting people on grounds protected by the Anti-Discrimination Act of 10 May 2007 (origin, religion, sexual orientation, etc.); the organised dissemination of extremist content.
