Specific regulation for goods originating from Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Council of Ministers is implementing one of the measures of the September agreement on Palestine by approving a draft royal decree amending the royal decree of 30 December 1993 regulating the import, export and transit of goods and related technology, with regard to imports from Israeli settlements. In concrete terms, this decree introduces specific regulations for goods from Israeli settlements located in the Palestinian territory occupied by Israel, namely the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. The draft implements this measure within the existing prior authorisation regime and thus fits into the current system of licensing, control and sanctions.

Reducing the administrative burden on businesses

The Government wants to refocus sustainability reporting obligations on companies with more than 1,000 employees and an annual turnover above €450 million. Companies with fewer than 1,000 employees in their value chain would also be better protected against excessive requests for information. According to figures put forward by the MR, the number of Belgian companies directly affected would fall from around 2,300 to 110.

Ban on activities of organisations that threaten national security

The aim is to swiftly neutralise radical or dangerous organisations that threaten our security by banning them. The following may now lead to an administrative ban or dissolution: taking part in, organising, financing or providing logistical support to terrorist acts as defined in the Criminal Code, as well as the organised dissemination of content inciting such acts or presenting them as legitimate; repeated threats, intimidation or harassment targeting people on grounds protected by the Anti-Discrimination Act of 10 May 2007 (origin, religion, sexual orientation, etc.); the organised dissemination of extremist content.

Football law: tougher penalties for offences in and around stadiums

We are strengthening penalties and enforcement tools so that every supporter and every family can enjoy matches in a positive, sporting atmosphere. The reform provides for tougher penalties against violent or dangerous behaviour at football matches. It notably includes higher minimum fines, stronger penalties for racist or xenophobic acts, a central database of stadium bans and stepped-up identity checks.

Stepping up the fight against organised crime and better protecting those who combat it

The Government wants to strengthen the means of tackling serious crime. The bill notably provides for a system to protect the identity of judges and court clerks exposed in sensitive cases, a stricter framework for recusal procedures, prison regimes adapted to profiles linked to organised crime, and new offences covering certain forms of organised crime.

A family credit of 5 days per child to better balance family and professional life

The Government has approved the creation of a family credit of five days per child, available to employees, the self-employed and civil servants. These days come on top of existing leave and may be taken, together or separately, during the child's first year. The right is granted first to the father or co-parent, with the option of transferring it to the mother. An allowance is provided for during the family credit days.

The tax reform has been passed: a significant tax cut for all workers

The reform of personal income tax gradually reduces the tax burden on work. It notably provides for an increase in the tax-free allowance, a reduction in the special social security contribution, stronger tax benefits for dependent children and a new tax deduction for entrepreneurs. The various measures will come into force gradually over the course of the legislature.

Breakthrough for offshore wind power: government approves new framework for PEZ 1

On a proposal by Energy Minister Mathieu Bihet, the federal government has approved a new regulatory framework to relaunch the tender for the first plot of the Princess Elisabeth Zone (PEZ 1) in the North Sea. This decision marks an important step for the development of offshore wind power in Belgium. The previous tender was suspended in 2025 due to legal, financial and technical uncertainties. The new arrangement aims to offer investors greater certainty while protecting public finances and consumers.
