In brief
Born in Charleroi in 1977, Anthony Dufrane trained as an accountant. He entered politics at a very young age: elected in 2000 in Montigny-le-Tilleul, he became alderman for Culture, Information and Senior Citizens, a role he held until 2006.
A federal MP from 2010 to 2012, he then served as an alderman in Charleroi from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2019, he was a member of the Walloon Parliament and of the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
Alongside this, since the early 2010s he has voluntarily run a Facebook page dedicated to job offers, mainly in Hainaut, followed by a very large community.
In 2024, after leaving the Parti socialiste, he joined the Mouvement Réformateur. Elected in June 2024 on the federal MR list in Hainaut with more than 12,400 votes, he has since been a federal MP in the Chamber of Representatives and a member of the Economy Committee. In October 2024, he headed the MR list in the municipal elections in Charleroi.
