Our plan for greater security in our border region
At the invitation of Christine Mauel, Bernard Quintin and Georges-Louis Bouchez will discuss the real security situation in the German-speaking Community: community policing, cross-border crime, protecting the population and trust in our institutions.
- Strengthening the police, building trust. Ongoing training and modern equipment for our police forces. Stronger dialogue and cooperation with the public, for trust, cohesion and everyday security.
- A Europe that protects. Closer cooperation within the Euregio, faster information sharing, modern security arrangements and a determined fight against organised crime.
- A safe and pleasant place to live. Tackling environmental crime, better protection for our rural areas and local businesses, and targeted prevention for safer roads.
- Modern, reliable institutions. Modern management of the European Union's internal borders that reconciles free movement and security. Faster court proceedings and more effective enforcement of court decisions.
