Boosting cleanliness around the North and South stations

State Secretary for Public Cleanliness Audrey Henry is continuing the clean-up strategy for Brussels-North and Brussels-South stations with this new large-scale operation. More than 5.5 tonnes of waste were collected. The Region, the municipalities, Bruxelles-Propreté, SNCB, STIB and the police are now coordinating their work more closely in order to lastingly improve cleanliness in these busy districts.

Making the Low Emission Zone more social and more pragmatic for Brussels motorists

The Brussels Government has approved a reform of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), which sets the rules for cars allowed to drive in Brussels. The environmental targets are maintained, but the accompanying measures are strengthened. The reform notably provides for an annual pass of €350 for certain vehicles that do not meet the LEZ criteria, reduced to €200 for Brussels residents with increased benefit (BIM) status. Exemptions are also planned for certain vulnerable groups, as well as derogations for certain professionals.
